September and October 2026
This in-service training, grounded in the Never Too Early framework, will be delivered in-person at childcare centers in three-hour sessions, designed to support educators working across early childhood age groups. Each session includes a two-hour focus on children ages three and older and a one-hour segment devoted to infants and toddlers.
Inviting teachers from various centers is encouraged. The more participants, the better. Educators will receive three professional development credit hours from Northern Lights upon completion of the training.
Applications due by May 20, 2026
Shared topics will include visual and experiential art connected to children’s literature, creating meaningful art exhibits and classroom displays, and using documentation to communicate learning and guide curriculum development. For educators working with children ages three and older, an additional workshop on Loose Parts and Provocations will explore ways to foster creativity, inquiry, and open-ended exploration in early learning environments.
Training content can be adapted to meet the specific needs and interests of participating programs, ensuring relevance for diverse early childhood settings. Programs are encouraged to invite educators from multiple centers to participate, strengthening collaboration and shared professional learning across communities.
How we’ll pick the locations for the pilot
- How many providers will benefit from the in-service training
- The location of the in-service training request, as we hope to have geographic diversity
- Number of participants who have participated in workshops with Wendy and Leanne. Having some exposure to our philosophies, styles, and curricular priorities will help make the training less redundant.
