Program Evaluator – Vermont Book Awards
Vermont Humanities is seeking proposals from contractors with program evaluation and strategic planning expertise to evaluate the past performance of the Vermont Book Awards program and present recommended options for a more sustainable future. Tasks will be performed in close collaboration with the Executive Director to meet identified objectives, including recruiting stakeholders for focus groups and/or interviews on their past experience with the Book Awards and their ideas for the future. The selected contractor will write a final report on findings that includes two or more recommendations for a new structure for the program.
Proposals are now being accepted on a rolling basis. Vermont Humanities expects to select a contractor based upon proposal documents, references, and interviews with top applicants. Vermont Humanities will then negotiate and sign a contract to start by October 1, 2026. The contract will be for a three-month period.
Potential contractors should submit proposals, including all necessary documents, no later than 5pm on August 31, 2026 to jobs@vermonthumanities.org.
Interim Coordinator – Vermont Book Awards
Vermont Humanities is seeking proposals from contractors with program management expertise to serve as the interim coordinator of the Vermont Book Awards program, including managing the nomination process, overseeing the shipment of books to jury panel members, building jury panels, and assisting panels in their deliberations and selection of finalists and winners. Tasks will be performed in close collaboration with the Executive Director to meet identified objectives. Confidentiality and discretion in this work is required.
Proposals are now being accepted on a rolling basis. Vermont Humanities expects to select a contractor based upon proposal documents, references, and interviews with top applicants. Vermont Humanities will then negotiate and sign a contract to start by October 1, 2026. The contract will be for a six-month period through March 30, 2027 with the possibility of extension to include coordinating media and events announcing the 2026 VBA winners.

Shingle Roof Replacement
Project: Replacement of shingle roofing with new shingle roofing at Vermont Humanities office, 11 Loomis Street, Montpelier, VT.
Timeline: Completion required by 7/30/27, with preference for completion before 11/30/26
Description: This project will include:
- Removal and disposal of existing shingle roofing, flashing, and underlayment down to the roof deck
- Evaluation and replacement, as necessary, of roof deck
- Installation of underlayment, ice and water shield, flashing, and shingle roofing
- Clean up of all job-related debris
