We are currently hiring an Accounting Assistant & a Community Program Officer

Accounting Assistant

We are searching for a thoughtful and meticulous person to join our team in the Finance Department. The Accounting Assistant supports the organization’s financial and compliance health and operations. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and demonstrated organizational skills. Responsibilities include a variety of accounting support, including vendor relations, accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations and digital filing.

Community Program Officer

This individual works as one member of a cohesive team to develop, implement, and evaluate the day-to-day operations of Vermont Humanities’ reading and discussion humanities programs. The officer serves as team lead/project manager for programs such as Veterans Book Groups, Literature and Medicine, Speakers Bureau, and public Reading & Discussion groups, but also works in collaboration with team members to implement these and other projects.

Vermont Humanities is located in Montpelier, but all staff work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote hours. New staff will be provided with a computer and other necessary equipment to complete their work both remotely and in the office.
