Steve Stettler of Weston served as Producing Artistic Director of the Weston Playhouse, Vermont’s oldest professional theatre, from 1988 to 2018, growing the company to a $2.6 million dollar year-round operation with two stages and nationally recognized education and new works programs. He joined the Board of Vermont Humanities in February 2019, and he serves on the Development and Program Committees.
Having taught in independent schools and in undergraduate training programs before moving full-time into theatre, Steve lectures for several Vermont Lifelong Learning programs and has been honored for his work as an adjudicator for the Vermont State Drama Festival and American College Theatre Festival. He is an emeritus board member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, a board member for the Weston Community Association, and a member of the Vermont Community Foundation.
Steve holds an M.Litt. in theatre from Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English, an MFA in directing from Catholic University, and an A.B. in English and Drama from Kenyon College.
