Adventures in Mime & Space: The Legacy of Marcel Marceau
Rob Mermin explores the metaphors of mime technique—what mime master Marcel Marceau called “the silent language of the soul.”
Rob trained in Paris in 1969 with mentor Marcel Marceau, as well as Marceau’s teacher, Etienne Decroux. Rob then ran off to perform in circuses throughout Europe, Scandinavia, and the former Soviet Union.
He has lectured in universities internationally, performed in TV and theater worldwide, and written two books on circus. In 1987 Rob founded Vermont’s own award-winning company Circus Smirkus.
