Words in the Woods

Enjoy our state's natural beauty while engaging with writers.

Words in the Woods

Words in the Woods logo: white lettering of a deer and geese and a waterfall over a forested landscapeJust in time for summer, our new “Words in the Woods” program will allow Vermonters and visitors to enjoy our state’s natural beauty while listening to and reading literature in the outdoors.

Thanks to Vermont State Parks and the Vermont Arts Council for their support of Words in the Woods! Words in the Woods events are generously sponsored by a Northeast Kingdom donor in honor of poet Judy Chalmer.

Recorded Sessions

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold public events such as Words in the Woods in the summer of 2020. However, we recorded several exclusive video events with poets, produced on-location at Vermont State Parks.
