A whirlwind tour of comics around the world and throughout human history! Join award-winning cartoonist and educator Marek Bennett (M.Ed.) as we explore and explain comics from many corners of the globe — with special attention to how people use sequential visual narratives to share ideas, information, and meaning.

From ancient African and Mediterranean civilizations, to medieval European history, to ancient Mayan libraries; from Chinese landscape scrolls to modern Japanese manga and the great comic book battles of the mid-20th century, and more: this rich worldwide heritage of graphic storytelling can entertain & inform modern readers, as well as inspire comics artists & fans of all ages.

Marek Bennett makes and teaches comics and music in New Hampshire, USA, and the world beyond. His comics work includes the graphic novel series, “The Civil War Diary of Freeman Colby,” as well as drawing, translating, and editing for “The Most Costly Journey” (2021).
