Melissa Lang has been an instructor, educational program coordinator and teacher trainer for more than 30 years. She has taught ages five to eighty-five in public schools, private colleges and—for the past 11 years—has served in non-profit education. She served as ELL Coordinator at USCRI (formerly Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program), Vermont Adult Learning, and currently is a program coordinator at Mercy Connections in Burlington.
Her main career focus has been in the field of Teaching English Language Learning. She has a BA in English Literature and Secondary Education and an MA in TESOL from St. Michael’s College.
In addition to facilitating Mercy Connections’ Tutoring Programs, and teaching ELL courses, she has had the pleasure of teaching a class called “Pens & Pages” at Mercy Connections. For the past eight years, she and her students have enjoyed reading and discussing Vermont Reads books chosen by Vermont Humanities.
