A woman in a blue cardigan smiles at the cameraJoanna Tebbs Young, author of the award-winning biography of Burlington historian Lilian Baker Carlisle, writes the Rutland Herald/Times Argus historical column, “Remember When,” and is a regular contributor to the Rutland Magazine. Joanna holds a BA-Honors in history, an Individualized MA in Transformative Language Arts, and an MFA in Creative Writing.

She is currently writing an historical novel based in 19th century Vermont. Joanna has facilitated the Vermont Humanities’ Literature and Medicine program at Rutland Regional Medical Center since 2015 and is director of Chittenden Public Library.
