James Sturm explores a brief history of the language and art of comics, and the new ways that cartooning and visual storytelling are changing the world.
James Sturm is a cartoonist and co-founder of the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction. His notable works include Adventures in Cartooning, The Golem’s Mighty Swing, and Market Day. His work has appeared in scores of publications including The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Onion, The New York Times, Slate, and on the cover of The New Yorker. He is also the co-founder of the Seattle newspaper The Stranger.
