Dr. Hasia Diner is a Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies and History at New York University. Her many books examine the intersection of American and Jewish history and include In the Almost Promised Land: American Jews and Blacks, 1915-1935; The Lower East Side Memories: The Jewish Place in America; and Hungering for America: Italian, Irish and Jewish Foodways in the Age of Migration. She is currently completing a book on global Jewish migrations and the history of Jewish peddling.
