Please note: This talk is part of our Fall Conference 2019. You must have registered for the conference to attend this event.

Odysseus was a refugee who sought repeatedly for a way to survive among alien landscapes and foreign peoples during ten years of war and another ten at sea. The Odyssey prompts us to consider questions about the foreigner beyond “Who is he?” or “Where is he from?” How do we respond to the foreigner’s arrival? How do we answer questions about the place we call home? Led by: Carol Dougherty, Professor of Classical Studies, Wellesley College
