This year’s Vermont Reads book selection, The Most Costly Journey, features the stories of 19 migrant farm workers in Vermont as illustrated by New England cartoonists. It was created by the El Viaje Más Caro Project.
A round table discussion facilitated by Dr. Alan Berolzheimer, Project Historian and Assistant Director at The Flow of History, will lead conversation centered on the human experience explored in The Most Costly Journey.
First, we will dive into the use of the graphic novel format to represent story and emotions within them. Next, the discussion will focus on the benefits and challenges of mental health communication in marginalized communities and beyond. Locally sourced refreshments provided.
