The Most Costly Journey: Vermont, Agriculture, and Vitality

Live Event
March 18: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The cover of The Most Costly Journey book

This year’s Vermont Reads book selection, The Most Costly Journey, features the stories of 19 migrant farm workers in Vermont as illustrated by New England cartoonists. It was created by the El Viaje Más Caro Project.

Join us for a presentation and conversation on agriculture, migration, and how migrant workers enhance the vitality of Vermont. We will be discussing the agricultural history of the Stowe area and how that history and future relate to climate migration. These discussions will be bolstered by video material from Vermont Reads and the documentary For The Love of Rutland. Locally sourced refreshments will be served.
