Illustration of Dolores Huerta with black hair and a blue shirt on a farm with a raised fist

Join us for a read aloud of “Lola Out Loud” and “Dolores Huerta: A Hero to the Migrant Workers” and a discussion about migrant workers. Reading will be followed by a themed activity. For ages 6-10, siblings welcome.

This year’s Vermont Reads book selection, The Most Costly Journey, features the stories of 19 migrant farm workers in Vermont as illustrated by New England cartoonists. It was created by the El Viaje Más Caro Project.
