Vermont Reads 2017: Jacqueline Woodson Author Talk

VHC brings award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson to Burlington for a free public talk. Woodson will discuss her reading and writing process and the journey to some of the books she’s published. Her book, Brown Girl Dreaming, a memoir of her childhood written in verse, is the Vermont Reads 2017 pick and was awarded the National Book Award in 2014.  The book also received the Coretta Scott King Award, a Newbery Honor Award, the NAACP Image Award and the Sibert Honor Award. Ms. Woodson will sign books at the conclusion of the event.

The talk begins at 6:00 pm, and is free and open to all. No tickets are required. The talk will be held in the Burlington High School auditorium, and the doors will open at 5:00 pm. Ms. Woodson will sign books at the conclusion of the program; Phoenix Books will have copies of Woodson’s books available for purchase at the event.
