The Vermont Circus Festival presented by the New England Center for Circus Arts brings people together to celebrate the joy of circus through workshops, performances, and community events. By sharing the magic of this art form, we strengthen community connections, inspire creativity, and bring cultural and economic vibrancy to the region. As it catapults through the ages, this dynamic slideshow and lecture highlights how and why circus has impacted and inspired visual arts since the start of time. Individual images are accompanied by personal stories and intriguing facts about each artist and the period they represent. The Presenter, Karen E Gersch, is a celebrated acrobat and clown (founding member of the Big Apple Circus, Circus Smirkus and Friendly Bros.
