Schedule for November 6:

6:00 PM: History Discussion: 200 Years of Circus in Vermont

Location: 118 Elliot — 118 Elliot Street, Brattleboro, VT

A presentation and discussion with Rob Mermin & guests. There is a long tradition of circus in Vermont (and in Brattleboro) following the train line through the state that would bring traveling tented menageries, acrobats, and aerialists. In Brattleboro, elephants paraded down Main Street, across to the now flooded Island Park in the middle of the Connecticutt River, and was an annual tradition that brought exotic entertainment to town. In researching his books, Rob has learned much about the history of circus in Vermont and will share stories and insight.
