Please note: This talk is part of our Fall Conference 2017. You must have registered for the conference to attend this event.

Across time and cultures, humans have designed forms and tools with which to communicate within larger governing structures. From the written word to virtual reality, these innovations have redefined our notions of ourselves, the universe, and society. Arguably our digital communication is causing as profound a change as Gutenberg’s press did. This talk will explore past and future communication technologies, the culture that gave birth to them, and possible implications for the future.

Led by: Ann DeMarle, Associate Dean and Director of the Emergent Media Center, Champlain College
