Food—like music and language—it is a strong link to our past, no matter the shores on which we wash up as huddled masses yearning to breathe free. From British fish and chips to Bubbe’s brisket to the ubiquitous Shabbos supper of cholent, we’ll explore recipes that Jews from the Sephardic and Ashkenazic traditions took with them as a diasporic people to the Balkans, Europe, North Africa, and America.
