Please note: This talk is part of our Fall Conference 2017. You must have registered for the conference to attend this event.

In this breakout discussion, we will explore technology’s role at the intersection of fame and solitude. How do the technologies of publication that create modern fame—be they internet or print-based—transform lives that require solitude? Our touchstones will be Thomas Merton, Jack Kerouac, Colson Whitehead, Viet Nguyen, and Marilyn Robinson.

Led by: Amy Hungerford, Bird White Housum Professor of English, Professor of American Studies, and Dean of Humanities, Yale University
