The Fair Haven Historical Society will celebrate the town’s Charter Day with a special performance of “Spit ‘N Lyon,” a musical about the life and times of Matthew Lyon.
Dubbed “Vermont’s Champion of Freedom,” Lyon was an entrepreneur, inventor, and politician who is best known for being the first person imprisoned for violating the Sedition Act of 1798 for publicly criticizing President John Adams.
“Spit ‘N Lyon” will be performed by a cast led by John Daly, who co-wrote the songs with Greg Goldman and Niel Maurer.
Admission is free! Seating is limited.
This project is supported in part by a grant from Vermont Humanities, in partnership with the Vermont 250th Commission.
