**CANCELLED** Remixing the Humanities: How the Arts Can Help Embed Habit of Equity in the Classroom and Curriculum

May 15
5:00 pm

Flynn Center for the Performing Arts
Please note: this event has been cancelled due to concerns around the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The current generation of young people is the most diverse in U.S. history—yet are we designing equitable learning contexts and experiences reflective of these demographics? Educators must examine where and how equity and inclusion become mindsets and habits that inform how students, teachers, and communities see each other and the world. Humanities curricula are a particularly potent avenue to redesign how teaching and learning can embrace and leverage diversity beyond the checklist. Aysha Upchurch will offer strategies that shake up the old, shift power, and reshape classrooms as places where rigor, equity, and joy can co-exist. This event is FREE, open seating. Open to educators, administrators, and teaching artists. Presented by Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and supported by a VHC grant.
