Data is turned out in unimaginable quantities day and night by our myriad computers and smart devices. It is analyzed and optimized in the belief that it holds the answers to our most challenging problems, from public policy to personal health. Is there a happy medium between the “gut” and data?  This session will explore the history, the hopes, and the shortcomings of data optimization.
