Fall Festival

Non-Fiction Comics Festival

Live Event
October 15: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

From science to politics, history to health care, cartooning has exploded as a legitimate medium for exploring non-fiction topics and the textures of lived experience. The first ever Non-Fiction Comics Festival will feature panel discussions, workshops, and exhibits by cartoonists who create non-fiction and autobiographical work. The keynote speaker is James Spooner, author of The High Desert (Harper Collins, 2022.)

Attend in-person events in communities around Vermont or join hybrid events online. Many sessions will center around the themes of our Vermont Reads 2022 selection, The Most Costly Journey, a comics collection of stories told by migrant workers in Vermont.
