Dr. Frederick M. Wiseman will lead a comprehensive multimedia workshop which will explore the native-generated information presented in his book Something of Value: The Vermont Abenakis: 1790-1970.
This workshop will include a review of the government documents, pictures, aboriginal artifacts and ancestral practices that appear in the book and a discussion on how this reality sometimes differs from the image portrayed in the media.
This event will be held in the Community Room of the Vermont History Center. Coffee and muffins will be provided in the morning but attendees are asked to bring their own lunch.
