Eleanor Roosevelt: Hammering Out Human Rights
Mead Memorial Chapel
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This historic document drafted under the leadership of Eleanor Roosevelt has stood the test of time, as a testament to the enduring universality of the values of equality, justice, peace, and human dignity. To celebrate the anniversary, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom and Middlebury College host guest speaker Dr. Blanche Wiesen Cook, professor and author of a three-volume, definitive biography of Eleanor Roosevelt. This is a free event. Supported in part by a Vermont Humanities grant.
