In this 90-minute Zoom webinar, Boston University scholar Dr. Laura Jiménez brings her unique blend of humor and no-nonsense instruction back to Vermont for Vermont Reads 2021: We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra.

Dr. Jiménez will offer tips for facilitating community conversations around the many intersecting layers of the book including: coming out, healthy relationships, negotiating consent, and supporting youth dealing with substance use or physical violence in their families. This 90-minute Zoom webinar will include information on how to talk about social justice issues through the lens of young adult literature.

Designed for a wide audience, this webinar is good for anyone thinking of running a Vermont Reads 2021: We Contain Multitudes project over the next year. Teachers, librarians, community organizers, parents, and students are all welcome!
