Samet is the author of No Man’s Land: Preparing for Peace and War in Post-9/11 America and Soldier’s Heart: Reading Literature through Peace and War at West Point, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Current Interest and was named one of the 100 Notable Books of the Year by The New York Times.

Professor Samet is also the editor of Leadership: Essential Writings by Our Greatest Thinkers, which was published in 2015. In 2012, she was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and was also awarded the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture’s Hiett Prize. Samet is a professor of English at the US Military Academy at West Point.
