Author Alison O’Leary is a longtime journalist who has worked for newspapers in Texas, Nevada, Maine and Massachusetts. She was a correspondent for the Boston Globe for several years before completing her B.A. at Emerson College and becoming editor of The Boston Parents’ Paper magazine and skirt! Boston magazine. She is the author of “Inns and Adventures” and “So Close to Home,” both of which she co-wrote with Michael Tougias.
Alison won a 2017 Charlie Award (silver) for history writing from the Florida Magazine Association and numerous awards from the Parenting Publications of America organization for her work at The Boston Parents’ Paper from 2004 to 2007, including for travel writing in 2007.
