Check Into Literacy
With Check Into Literacy, you can support Vermont literacy programs — and the Vermont Humanities Council — when you pay your phone bill. Verizon customers can check a box on the first page of their telephone bill to make a monthly $1 donation; the donation will be added to the monthly bill.
All donations go to Verizon Reads, a non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charity. Verizon Reads redistributes all the contributions, with no fees or expenses withheld, to literacy charities in the state in which the donation was made.
VHC is excited that it has been chosen to manage publicity for the Verizon Reads Check Into Literacy program in Vermont. First Lady Dorothy Douglas is Vermont’s literacy champion for the project. In response, VHC has created Reading Vermont. Please do Check Into Literacy! |
